Description |
Round, medium-brown wood porridge pot, or "askur," with chip-carved lid attached with a wooden peg to the handle, which forms a portion of the body of the pot. There is a small handle on the other side also. This was a multi-purpose food container, still used in the early 1900s. Each person would typically have his or her own. The lids could be used as a simple plate, liquids could be poured into the bottom, and any leftovers could be stored inside for later. |
